FAQs: Booking A DJ In Indiana

• How much does it cost to book a DJ in Southern Indiana?

Typically, my DJ or Karaoke services would start at $150 per hour with a minimum of 3 hours. However, this can vary depending on how many hours you need and any special considerations. I will work with your budget to make sure you get the best deal for your wedding, party or business event. 

• How many weeks in advance do I need to book a DJ? 

It's best to book at least a month in advance. However, depending on my schedule, I may be available. Just give me a call and we'll figure it out.

• How many hours does a DJ play at a wedding reception or party? Are there different packages based on time spent?

I typically charge $150 per hour with a minimum of 3 hours. However I can customize a quote and work with your budget. Give me a call or text me and we'll figure it out!

• Is DJ Scotty available for DJ services in my town or city? 

I'm available to provide DJ or Karaoke services up to 50 miles from my location in Austin, Indiana, depending on my schedule, but can go farther for events based on my schedule and resources. I most often serve weddings, parties events and bars in and around Scottsburg, New Albany, Sellersburg, Seymour, Madison (Indiana), Hanover, Edenburg, and Salem, Indiana. If you're outside that range, I still want to talk to you. 

• Can you play all our special songs at our wedding?

I can absolutely play any song you want that exists. Beyond that, I can help you build a song list that matches your tastes and the mood of your event.

• Can a DJ come to our event at the last minute? Is it bad to ask on short notice?

Sometimes I can accept a last minute commitment to DJ a wedding or party and it's never bad to ask. Just give me a call, I'll try to work in your event.

• How loud should wedding reception music be?

The answer to that is, as loud as you want it! That being said it's good to consider your guests, and 120 to 140 decibels can damage hearing.  That's probably way louder than you need, however, and I work for you!  

• Can a DJ set up outdoors at my party or wedding reception?

As long as there is a shelter, I can set up as a DJ or have a karaoke event outdoors. I also have access to a tent if needed, just give me a call and we'll work it out.

• Is there a deposit needed to book a DJ in Indiana?

I charge a $150 deposit to book a DJ or karaoke event and will refund $100 if you cancel within 2 weeks of the event. I  call that $50 a "restocking fee".
